Binocular Vision Dysfunction

We specialize in diagnosing and treating binocular vision dysfunction (BVD), a condition that occurs when your eyes fail to work together as a team. Patients with BVD often experience a range of symptoms, from double vision to headaches and dizziness. Our expert team offers personalized treatment options to help you restore visual comfort and clarity.

Our practice utilizes advanced diagnostic tools and customized therapies to address the root cause of BVD, improving your quality of life and helping you see clearly again.

What is binocular vision dysfunction?

Binocular vision dysfunction occurs when the eyes are misaligned, causing them to send different images to the brain. This misalignment forces the brain to overwork in an attempt to merge these images, leading to symptoms such as double vision, difficulty focusing, or eye strain.

BVD can affect patients of all ages and often goes undiagnosed, with many mistaking it for unrelated issues like migraines or vertigo.

Causes of Binocular Vision Dysfunction

Binocular Vision Dysfunction is becoming an issue for patients across the world for several reasons, including muscle imbalances in the eyes, genetic and/or neurological conditions, or trauma to the visual system. Individuals with BVD often have difficulty aligning their eyes properly, leading to a variety of visual disturbances. While some cases of BVD are present from birth, others may develop after head injuries or extended periods of near work, such as prolonged use of digital devices.
